You can check if the submissions were tracked in Site ACtivity. Open activity module and as administrator you will see site activity which will tell you when students submitted.

    Optionally ,

All Assignment submissions are stored in WP media. So if you edit the Assignment in WP admin screen. You will find all submission are "Attachments to this post" in media tab of WordPress. Using which you can easily evaluate the submissions.

To get into why you face this particular error , possible reasons:

    1. Some warning message from any WP plugin could impact this.

    2. Database busy.

I need site credentials to give you exact cause why this happens.

Hi in order to resolve this issue we would need your server php error log and ftp creds.Share those in private reply .

I could not login via ftp you shared :

    Status:      TLS connection established.

    Command: USER hi420769_wplms

Response: 331 Password required for hi420769_wplms

    Command: PASS **************

    Response: 530 Login incorrect.

I checked error log and found this error :

Fatal error Allowed memory size of 1073741824 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 262144 bytes) in /home/hi420769/tpm.wiki/www/wp-includes/plugin.php on line 267

There seems some plugin taking so much php memory limit causing this error .

Apart from this there are also so many errors :

PHP Warning:  Use of undefined constant YB_IN_BYTES - assumed 'YB_IN_BYTES' (this will throw an Error in a future version of PHP) in /home/hi420769/tpm.wiki/www/wp-includes/functions.php on line 467

I would recommend you to deactivate all your third party plugins at once and check issue again

I checked this out and there is one error appearing with the submissions query .The php memory limit exhasuted .

Fatal error</b>:  Allowed memory size of 1073741824 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 20480 bytes) .

But when I deactivate the Wpml plugin and its addons on your site it starts working again :

    https://prnt.sc/qFuSEOG6FSRb

conclusion : the wpml plugin is joining additional queries to the original query to  fetch submissions which is crashing your mysql database .

Please contact wpml plugin , you might need to exclude the wpml query filter for those queries or get a better server .

    let's solve it

  • [deleted] replied

Actually the issue is with wpml plugin , its joining its queries with our existing queries .

You need to contact wpml support on this .they can do this . OR upgrade your server .

Clearing up old and irrelevant comments might help it .

how much we need to increase the memory? so that everything works correctly?

  • [deleted] replied

Well its asking for 1gb which is very high and is mainly due to wpml plugin .

I would recommend you to clean your comments and also try deleting the old posts and inactive users in order to solve this .

  • [deleted] replied

Otherwise atleast increase memory limit to 1550 MB.

when we change the hosting package, I should write to you, what would you do further research and see if everything works after changing the package and the amount of memory?

  • [deleted] replied

Well the submissions should be loading fine then , its just taking so much memory to fetch the submissions from comments  table .

also Clearing up old and irrelevant comments might help it .

the fact is that our site will not launch ... no one except employees and test comments wrote anything.
If you see that there are some comments ... then show a screen, please.

  • [deleted] replied

Well then I dont know why its taking so much memory there for that query .My local setup having 100+ comments with memory of just 128M works fine .

I also shown you that without wpml its working absolutely fine .

Again the issue is with wpml plugin .

I would suggest you to create multisite instead of wpml in your case since your are getting major issues with wpml .

Although this works fine on our demo wpml site ,
