Hello, we want to create groups of students inside a course (because our business model). We are thinking that we can achieve this goal in this way: to add a field in the register form, in order to student can select an option and based on that option create a tag in the student profile programatically, so we can filter with easy inside the members page.
Can we achieve this goal in this way and how can we add a tag programatically when student register?
Is there another suggestion in order to create groups?
Well you can add this Gender profile field and can choose filter based on this profile field in the members directory elementor widget .
1 . add profile field from wp-admin -> users -> profile field .
2 . goto wp-admin -> settings -> buddypress -> pages -> deselect the members directory page there (this is done so that you can edit this page in elementor without issues).
edit members directory page with elementor edit the members directory widget and select the gender profile field in filters .
then again select this page in wp-admin -> settings -> buddypress -> pages -> members directory page
