On PUBLIC TICKET #3537053, I was inquiring about utilizing the WPLMS Learning System on a currently WPLMS-themed site that I will be converting to the Divi theme.
You advised I will need the "buddypress, wplms and vibebp plugins activated the lms content will remain intact".
Could you advise me as to exactly which of these buddypress, wplms and vibebp plugins are mandatory, Do I need all of them activated even though I do not intend to utilize some of them?
1) I do not use WPLMS FRONTEND for course creation, and do not plan to. I have 35 courses already created, but I'm NOT SURE if I have used gutenberg editor or the elementor. Can you tell me which from this screenshot? https://prnt.sc/1lXzdh2EVCdA
2) Since I do not plan to use WPLMS FRONTEND to create or edit courses, I would NOT "need to create the member, course layouts either in gutenberg editor or the elementor".. IS THAT CORRECT?
3) But I still need to activate all BuddyPress, Vibe & WPLMS plugins, right?
4) And are these all of them required? Or are there any missing from my list or no longer used (obsolete)?
Thank you for your clarity, but this is the worst news we have heard in years (including every area of our personal lives)! Unfathomable!
We have spent several YEARS creating all this LMS content! We have about 40 courses, 138 units, 187 quizzes, 2284 questions, and several assignments... and that's just on ONE of our 2 sites!
It would take at least months of work to manually replace all of that. We have neither the time, nor the money to even begin to pay someone to do that!
This seems unprofessional and unfair. It also gives us a great sense that WPLMS is not loyal to its customers and cannot be trusted in the future.
Please take into account that our organization is not the only one to have utilized the backend to create courses. There must be thousands or tens of thousands of others accumulated over all these years!
Can the idea of depreciating the backend be aborted? Otherwise, are you planning to provide a way that all this content will still be visible and function, or be automatically converted?
Or can you supply us with a comparable LMS alternative referral.
1 . old content wont be deleted you will still be able to edit them in front end .
all softwares and apps do that in order keep up with latest techonologies and provide better for thier customers even wordpress dropped its most important classic editor .
yes ofcourse the old plugins will cause a fatal error since you have now installed wplms plugin , if you have wplms plugin activated then these plugins must be deacttivated sicne you dont need them now .
vibe customtypes
vibe course module
wplms front end
wplms dahsboard
wplms assignments
vibe shortcodes
all of these plugins code are now in one wplms plugin
Thank you. Got that. I have set up a BuddyPress Single page and set it up in the Vibe BP general settings. DONE.
Next I am attempting to do as you said: "yes you would need to create course layouts , profile layout in divi (if you do not intend to use elementor with divi theme as mentioned in this tutorial).
1) The video looks to be creating a course in the front end as the first step. Why would I do that? I have already built the courses in the back end. Help me resolve this issue.
2) The video seems unclear as to how to access where to go to accomplish what it's demonstrating. I don't even know how to access the front end from my admin (to create a course on the front end. SCREENSHOT
3) Where do I create the course layout in Divi. How do I get there in Divi? And what is this for.. a general course template, or 1 course?
4) The next step in the video (midway through seems to create a course layout. I do not have course options in my Divi TEXT module like the video shows. SCREENSHOT1SCREENSHOT
5) ALSO- Can you explain these conflicting statements of yours in this thread. I do not understand:
Saturday 2:30 pm. "1 . you have to use the front end course creation courses / units created from backend might not work in upcoming version of wplms. we are deprecating the backend editor . "
Monday 3:22 pm. "1 . old content wont be deleted you will still be able to edit them in front end ." ?
6) Again, I need a developer who is familiar with Divi & WPLMS. I cannot continue into the future without someone I can HIRE to manage this sort of thing. Does that make sense? My current developer knows nothing about WPLMS. Please provide referral.

we are deprecating the backend editor .
2 .now you have to . not necessary to create profile layout if you set bp single page : https://docs.wplms.io/administrator-guide/step-by-step-guide-for-administrators/required-pages-for-wplms#bp-single-page
but its necessary to create the course layout page -- we recommend create it in gutenberg .
3 . yes. buddypress VIBEBP and wplms

they are not contradicting a course created from backend iwll show in front end in app dashboard page .
add the course menu to the vibebp profile menu which will show up in app dashboard page : https://wplms.io/support/knowledge-base/adding-buddypress-menu-items-to-profile-navigation-4-0/
then you will be able to see all courses created from backend and able to edit it in front end as well.
